How can I tell if my garnet stone is real?
Ok, I have this necklace I bought a little over a year ago. I bought it at Target in their fine jewelry section. It’s made of real silver (it’s marked), and has a large garnet pendant (20 mm by 15 mm). At the time I bought this, the lady at the counter told me it was real garnet. I just happened to be looking around on Target’s website recently, and saw my pendant, the same one, but it’s listed as “Garnet Cubic Zirconia…” WHAT??!! So, i’m wondering, how can I tell if what I got was real, or if the lady at the counter lied to me? (I’m upset, I payed a lot of money for it) Please help, thank you. Here’s the link if it helps:

The answer is in the discription, Oval Garnet Cubic Zirconia Marcasite Pendant Necklace – the cubic zircona applies to the sparkly part of the setting, it would refer to the garnet if it was ‘Cubic Zircona Garnet’.
However, a stone that size for that price from a chain store is never going to be great quality.
Personally, i think you overpaid for such a stone without it being a cz, cause it looks fake.
