The more I read about the importance of real vegetables in our diet, the more I try to incorporate them. When I say real vegetables I don’t mean corn, peas and carrots from little cans. It seems as though deep green salad greens are really important to our well being. That means green leafy vegetables such as endive, radicchio, kale and spinach. I’ve never liked cooked spinach. But after I went to a friends house and “had to be polite” and eat it, I found it’s not bad in a salad.

So I decided to create delicious and nutrient-rich salads for my family. The first thing I realized was that I needed to clean the salad greens and then get them super dry. If you don’t do the last step you’re salad wilts in no time. So I decided that I needed a home kitchen salad spinner. I noticed when I ate at my friend’s house she had one. So I gave her a call and found out that she has one of the Zyliss salad spinners.

I ended up choosing the Zyliss Easy Spin Salad Spinner. I liked the design which let me see how the salad greens looked while they were spinning. It had an easy center button that you push down on. And on Amazon it cost less than $20.
