Does cwt mean carats?
For my science project I have to research the amethyst and I have to find the largest carat found of amethyst so far. On the link below:
http://www.gemstone.org/gem-by-gem/english/amethyst.html
in the seventh paragraph it talks about 700 cwts. Is that carats because I looked it up on dictionary.com and it says something different, but one of my friends helped me search for it and she found that it means carats, but for gems. Thanks to everyone that answers!
it means carat weight
