Garnet – Gemstone travelers
Almost everyone confuses the Garnet gemstone with dark red stone only, the truth of matter is Garnet that comes in a variety of colors with some of them cost almost as much as a sapphire. Garnet is the stone for the month of January is the anniversary stone to celebrate two years of marriage. Good sources of garnet Argentina, Brazil, Germany, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia, Pakistan, Russia and parts of Scandinavia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tanzania and the United States of America.
Garnet stones come in a variety of colors ranging from colorless to black, single color, not colored blue. Garnet has a high density, which gives heavy weight. This makes the cost a bit more than other gems of the same size and carat weight. Garnet sand is also used for industrial purposes for glass paper and mixed with pressurized water jets to cut steel. Many different stones are Garnet Group, here is a list of the best known.
Pyrope … is the red variety of blood group and was very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, especially in "Bijoux de Boheme. The best stones have a red fire that does not darken too much after having been in the jewelry. Pyrope has a bright look of stone and gem quality stones extracted from Buell Park, more beyond the confines of the Painted Desert just east of Canyon de Chelly with specimens up to five carats not uncommon.
ALMANDITE … color from dark red to purple-red and black, even.
Its name comes from a city of Asia Minor and often confused with Pyrope.
Often cut into cabochons with the bottom recessed to allow more light through the stone. ALMANDITE can be fragile and have seen the smart card, while being faceted.
Rhodolite … has a beautiful reddish-purple with brilliant composition between that of Pyrope and almandine, also has fewer inclusions. Rhodolite is regarded as a superior gems both partners red.
Spessartite … bright orange to reddish-brown feathers, often as inclusions, which are actually clouds of small drops, equipment gem quality cleaning is very rare and often confused with Hessonite. A pure form of bright orange Spessartite, which is known as Mandarin Garnet is very rare in quality gem material.
Hydrogrossular Garnet … currant color has a very particular and often done in beads or cabochons. Very often inclusions of black magnetite are present that give the rock a mottled appearance. Because of its similarity to known Green Jade Jade Jade or Garnet Transvaal in South Africa. A variety of garnet hydrogrossular Rose can also be found.
Grossular Garnet Hessonite-… A brownish-orange to brown-yellow member of Grossular Garnet group, Hessonite is also known such as cinnamon stone. The precious stone has inclusions of small crystals of apatite, which give a whirlpool effect.
Grossular Garnet, Tsavorite … is a lime green emerald green group members, who had surgery for the first time in Kenya in 1968. emerald crystals only produce small stones of 2 carats or less, ensuring that they are more expensive than lime green stones. Tsavorite is nearly always faceted as a gemstone.
Demantoid … the bright green variety of andradite group Garnet is very rare, it is rare to find stones larger than 1 carat. Demantoid has a very hot, because it has a greater dispersion of light and brilliance of a diamond. The inclusions of gemstones has distinctive yellow-brown hair like pieces of asbestos. Of all the garnets, Demantoid is by far the most valuable.
