80′s vs. 90′s R&B scene, which did you like better?

The 80′s had the end of the ‘funk era’. (Cameo, Rick James), the end of the ‘band era’ ( Gap Band, Dazz Band, Loose Ends), the voices, (Luther Vandross, Shirley Murdock, Anita Baker), the beginning of ‘new jack swing’ (Al B. Sure, Guy, Bobby Brown), the big stars (Michael, Janet, Whitney, Prince)

The 90′s had the end of the ‘new jack swing era’ (Bell Biv Devoe, Chuckii Booker), the beginning of the ‘hip-hop soul’ era ( Mary J. Blige, Jodeci), the beginning of the ‘neo-soul era’ (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Maxwell), the guy/girl group explosion (Silk, SWV, Shai, Jade), the big stars (Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill)

I’d say both, I was born in the mid-1980s. So, have an appreciation and respect for 80′s R&B music and love 90′s R&B music. Especially, that Maxwell, Mary J. Blige, Silk…uh, I can go on and on. But music isn’t what it used to be, maybe some day we’ll get what we had back. :)
