What does it mean when a guy buys a gem as a child after only a month?

I've been dating a girl a little sole more than a month. We are really in it and the other day, gave me a necklace. There was nothing on top, just a silver chain with a nice blue / green jade pendant. He has bought a woman who makes her own jewelry, and it was my style. We did not talk about being boyfriend / girlfriend, but some of my friends told me they think I guess they are official.
