Is getting massaged (by a massage bed) for too long dangerous?
My mom is weak from chemotherapy and lies in the massage bed that my dad got her. The bed just has a heating pad and some jade rollers that move up and down your body. My mom uses it as soon as she wakes up and for most of the day. After she eats a meal, she would lie on it and turn it on. I worry that she spends too much time on it. What do you think? Please give me facts/reasons because my mom really likes it.
I think this is not a very bad situation. It can help your mom’s pain over the soreness of lying down all the time, as she is not strong enough to do much more. It also might help to keep the circulation in the area, so she does not get bedsores. Please do not worry about this, if this gives your mom a feeling of comfort, then it is benefidial for her. Hopefully when she gets better, after she finished her chemo, she will be moving around more, and not be so much dependent on this form of circulation boost.
