How big a hole will 14 gauge conch leave when removed?
I recently got a conch and they pierced it with a 14 g which is bigger than I was expecting. If I remove it after the healing period, how big of a hole will it leave/how noticeable will it be? Will I be able to put smaller jewelry in it?
14g is 1.6mm so if you get a ruler you’ll be able to see how big it is.
It won’t be that noticeable a hole and skin will grow over the hole if you were to leave it out.
Once it’s a bit more healed you can put in 1.2mm/16g jewellery if you want to, it should just shrink down to that size. Don’t change the jewellery for about 4 – 5 months though as conches take quite a long time to heal.
Cool thing though – When I take my 1.6mm conch out and have no hair behind my ear I can see light through the hole
