What animals (rare or not) could you raise to sell?
Hi,
Just wondering which animals (rare or not) could you raise to sell for a good profit?
I live in the country, so any type is feasible.
We enjoy small animals & large…would prefer to breed them & have no problem selling all the babies we could produce. For instance, I have a friend that has those hairless cats…they go for $700-$1,000 each…something like that.

Some have answered “Breed something that you love only” Well, that’s a fact – that’s what I had in mind – I love all animals, I’m not picky! LOL!
Please do not raise dogs or cats for money. Even while you can sell a GOOD quality cat for that much, few breeders make much if any profit. You have to remember that breeding is a very expensive undertaking. You have to pay stud fees, vet bills, food, and lots of other thngs. Puppy shots alone can be $70 or more per puppy. Not to mention all of the homeless animals already alive. Over 3 to 4 million dogs and cats are killed every year in the US alone just for not having a home. If you want to raise pets to better the breed, go for it, but to bring an animal into a world that doesn’t want it just to make some money is cruel. I’m not trying to come off as mean or preachy, but have volunteered in shelters and have seen perfectly healthy happy animals killed, just because they were born into an already full world. Its aweful.
