i have a huge test 2morrow. i just swithced my classes so i had no time to study for it. to me i dont think i should take the test because i just tranfered to the class but teachers will be teachers . but can u answer as many as you can even if its only one please and thank you.

1. The crystals have a pink or red interior with a green exterior, and thus resemble watermelons.
2. The sand resulted from erosive action on rocks, so many large crystals have been crushed or destroyed either when eroding from the original deposit or from subsequent tidal action. Also important is the fact that large crystals are actually pretty rare – look at any old patch of rock you see by the side of the road, and chances are that you will not see any crystals over 1cm or so. Nevertheless, complete crystals of hard minerals (diamond, zircon, sometimes quartz) can be found in alluvial deposits. Also, malleable minerals that bend instead of breaking (gold, copper) can survive such stresses, though the crystals are usually deformed and “nuggets” are found instead.
3. Silicon and oxygen are the most common elements in Earth’s crust, and as such are very common in crustal minerals.
4. Clay minerals (kaolinite, nontronite, etc.) consist of sheets of tetrahedra. There may be others as well.
5. Anything with a hardness between 4 and 6 or so (feldspar actually refers to several similar minerals). Apatite (fluoro- or hydroxyl-) is one such example.
6. Halite has perfect cubic cleavage.
7. We are using a specific gravity test.
